SO-CON 2025 – Code of Conduct

Purpose

SO-CON aims to provide a positive, inclusive, and safe environment for all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and volunteers. This Code of Conduct outlines our expectations for behavior and helps to ensure a respectful and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Expected Behavior
  1. Respect:
    1. Treat everyone with respect and kindness.
    2. Be considerate of differing opinions and experiences.
  2. Inclusivity:
    1. Embrace diversity and inclusivity.
    2. Create an environment where everyone feels welcome.
  3. Professionalism:
    1. Conduct yourself in a professional and responsible manner.
    2. Avoid offensive or inappropriate language and behavior.
  4. Collaboration:
    1. Foster a collaborative and supportive atmosphere.
    2. Encourage the exchange of ideas and knowledge.
  5. Compliance:
    1. Follow all event policies and guidelines.
    2. Comply with any instructions given by event staff.
Unacceptable Behavior
  1. Harassment:
    1. Harassment, intimidation, or discrimination in any form will not be tolerated.
    2. This includes offensive comments, unwelcome advances, or any other inappropriate behavior.
  2. Disruption:
    1. Disruptive behavior that interferes with the event or the experience of other attendees is not allowed.
    2. This includes but is not limited to heckling, loud and disruptive conversations, or any action that may disturb the event proceedings.
  3. Violence:
    1. Any form of violence or threat of violence will result in immediate removal from the event.
    2. This includes physical, verbal, or written threats.
  4. Unauthorized Recording or Photography:
    1. Recording or photographing sessions without permission from the event organizers and participants is strictly prohibited.
Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience any violations of this Code of Conduct, please report the incident to event staff or organizers immediately. Reports can be made in person or through the designated reporting channels.

Consequences of Violations

Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in sanctions, including but not limited to verbal warnings, ejection from the event without refund, and banning from future events.
